Breakfast Cake
(Serves 8)

2 cups buttermilk baking mix (like Bisquick)
2 - 4 tablespoons sugar
2/3 cup milk
1 egg
1 cup or 1/2 pound shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 pound bulk sausage

Preheat oven to 400. Well grease a 9 inch round cake pan or a bread pan. Brown sausage and drain on a paper towel, blotting well. Crumble sausage; set aside. In bowl combine baking mix and sugar. Stir in milk, egg, cheese and sausage until well blended. Spread into prepared pan. Bake until set, about 25 - 30 minutes. Note: I usually bake this in a bread pan and serve slices on a platter.
