This is my favorite Barbecue Beans recipe for Irene, who was requesting a recipe, that can be cooked in a Crock Pot. This is my most requested recipe for any gathering, and is never a spoonful left! They can also be baked in the oven, or fixed in a microwave, if in a hurry.

Barbecue Beans

1 (1 lb. each) can butter beans, kidney beans and pork and beans
1/2 lb. bacon
1-1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup ketchup
1 tbsp. prepared yellow mustard
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp. vinegar
2 garlic cloves, minced
pepper, to taste

Drain butter beans, but do not drain pork and beans or kidney beans (if want them to be thicker, drain kidney beans also). Fry bacon until crisp; drain and crumble. Drain excess fat from skillet. Brown beef in remaining bacon fat with onion, then mix in remaining ingredients in Crock Pot, large casserole dish (3 qt.) or large microwave dish. Add beans and mix in. Cook 6 to 8 hours on low in crock pot, or bake at 350º for 30 minutes covered and 30 minutes uncovered. For microwave,

Cook covered for 5 minutes on high; stir and cook covered, on high for 7 minutes longer.

This doesn't say how many servings, but it feeds quite a few, especially when served with other dishes at a gathering.

NOTE: I usually use a bigger can of the pork and beans.
