Glazed Carrots

12 medium carrots, peeled
3 tablespoons sweet butter
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 teaspoon basil
1/4 teaspoon salt

Cut carrots into 1/8-inch slices. Cook (or steam) in a small amount of water until tender, but not mushy. Remove from heat and set aside. In a heavy saucepan, melt butter. Add maple syrup, carrots, basil and salt. Stir well to coat carrots thoroughly with butter sauce.
Serves 4
