Hi Nancy, Here is a recipe for 3-Bean Salad that I worked on and came up with that my DIL thinks is the best.

BJ's Best Ever 3-Bean Salad

2 cans green beans, drained
1 can yellow (wax) beans, drained
1 can red kidney beans, drained
1 small red onion, thinly sliced in slivers, or rings
1 1/2 cups vinegar
1 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup oil (olive oil or oil of your choice)
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt (or 1 1/4 tsp if beans are unsalted)
3 'toes' garlic, pushed through garlic press

Mix together the drained beans and sliced onion and put in refrigerator container. In another dish mix together the vinegar, water, oil, sugar, salt and garlic. Bring to boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Pour over bean mixture and refrigerate at least 24 hours. Remove portion to be served with a slotted spoon to eliminate some of the marinade.
