Hawaiian Meatloaf
2 lb. ground beef
1 envelope brown gravy mix
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. instant onion
2 eggs
1 Tbsp. snipped parsley
2 tsp. soy sauce
1/2 tsp. salt
dash of pepper
1 c. soft bread crumbs
In a large mixing bowl, blend 1 envelope
brown gravy mix and 1/2 cup milk. Stir
in 1 teaspoon instant minced onion; let
mixture stand a few minutes. Stir eggs,
snipped parsley, soy sauce, salt and
pepper into gravy mixture. Stir in bread
crumbs. Add ground beef; mix well to
combine all ingredients. Shape the meat
mixture into 2 loaves; place the beef
loaves in a shallow baking pan. Bake at
350 degrees for 50 minutes. Spoon off
the excess fat.
Using one (16 ounce) can sweet and sour
sauce, pour a small amount of the sweet
and sour sauce over the beef loaves.
Return to oven and bake 15 minutes
longer. Heat remaining sweet and sour
sauce. Serve sauce with meat loaves and
rice.
