Pinto Beans and Ground Beef
1 to 2 lb. pinto beans
2 to 4 Tbsp. chili powders
1 to 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
salt and pepper to taste
3/4 c. Coke
Rinse beans in a big pot of water. Turn heat on high until water is
boiling, then turn to medium heat and place lid on pot. Cook for 30
minutes. Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of chili powder per pound of beans,
and season with salt. Cook 20 minutes more. Add
3/4 cup to beans. The Coke cooks out of the beans and takes a lot of
gas with it. While beans are cooking, cook ground beef and season to
taste. Drain grease off ground beef and add to beans. Cook until
beans are tender.
