Cooking a Country Ham
1 country ham
2 c. Coke or Pepsi
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Wash ham and scrub pepper off. Make a
tin foil bag and put in roaster. Wrap ham in foil, leaving a small
opening at the top. Pour in Coke.
Seal. Put ham in oven for 30 minutes. Turn oven off for 3 hours.
Refire 30 minutes. Turn oven off 3 hours or overnight.
Refire 30 minutes. Bone ham while hot. Cut off skin and excess fat;
ready to bake with brown sugar or whatever you customarily use, or
ready to serve as is.
Note: Never open oven door! Makes ordinary country ham taste like
more expensive
kind.
