For Sue:
M and M Meringues
2 egg whites
Pinch cream of tartar
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup M&M's
In a small, deep bowl, beat egg whites with cream of tartar
until foamy. Gradually beat in sugar until a stiff meringue
is formed. Fold in candy. Grease and flour large cookie
sheets. Drop cookies by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheets.
Garnish each with more candy. Bake at 250 degrees 30 minutes
or until cookies are firm to the touch but still white. Cool
cookies on cookie sheets. Remove from sheet with spatula.
These cookies store well in a container with a tight cover.
