This recipe was given to me about 10
years ago and it was always a big hit at
the senior club.
Black Forest Dessert
1 (21-1/2 oz) box brownie mix
1 (8-oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 (8-oz) container frozen whipped
topping, thawed
2 tsp almond extract
1 (21-oz) can cherry pie filling
Prepare brownie mix according to package
directions. Pour into greased and
lightly floured 9-by-13-inch pan. Bake
in a preheated 350° oven 35 minutes, or
until done. Let cool.
With electric mixer, blend softened
cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add
powdered sugar; blend thoroughly. Blend
in whipped topping. Spread over top of
cooled brownies; chill for about an
hour.
Stir extract into pie filling. Spread on
top of cream-cheese layer. Chill
Yield: 12 servings
