We are fond of cobblers made with cake mixes. We discovered the variation of using strawberry cake mix with blackberries or dewberries is very good. Thick dough placed in bottom of pan and fruit (little juice included) on top of dough. During baking, dough rises to top and fruit goes to bottom (with little sauce). My recipe is:

Berry cobbler

2 cups strawberry cake mix
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 to 3/4 cup water

Mix together, adding just enough water to make heavy dough that must be spread into 9x13 pan.

Measure:

2 1/2 - 2 3/4 cups blackberries (put blackberries in measuring cup and fill to measure line with juice or water)

1/2 cup sugar

Place blackberries evenly over dough. Stir juice and sugar. Pour evenly over blackberries.
Bake 350º 30-45 minutes; or until dough rises to top and browns.
